The Honors Program at Barry is designed to challenge, enrich, and prepare especially motivated students to pursue their fullest potential. By participating in a rigorous curriculum rounded out by an array of edifying and interactive events, students explore crucial issues that we face in our daily lives. Students are given the space for discussion and debate and the opportunity to learn from experts in their fields. The Office of Financial Aid can assist with determining eligibility for the Honors Program.

The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library is located in the center of the beautiful Miami Shores campus of 糖心传媒. The Library is named in loving memory of Monsignor William Barry, one of the founders of 糖心传媒 and an inspirational figure in the Catholic Church within the Archdiocese of Miami. The extensive Library research collections include more than 950,000 physical items, over 40,000 print and on-line journal subscriptions, and several thousand on-line books and streaming video resources.

We are an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams, including men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis; and women's basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. So far, we've won 24 NCAA championships, had 338 All-Americans, 413 Scholar All-Americans, and nine NCAA "Women of the Year" finalists, the most of any Division II school. Not bad at all, but we're going for more.

What is the GMAT?

The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is a standardized exam, delivered in English, which helps business schools assess the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management. The exam is scored out of 800 and it does not require previous knowledge of business subjects. It is offered multiple times annually throughout the United States, as well as internationally. The GMAT includes three subject areas: Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA), Quantitative and Verbal. We strongly encourage all applicants to thoroughly prepare for the test.

Test Overview

  • The AWA section is comprised of two (2) writing tasks - the analysis of issue and the analysis of argument.

  • The quantitative section has a total of 37 questions on two (2) subsections - problem solving and data-sufficiency.

  • The verbal section has a total of 41 questions on three (3) subsections - reading comprehension, critical reasoning and sentence correction.

In the School of Business, we recognize that many factors determine a person鈥檚 potential. Consequently, the School adopts a comprehensive application review by taking into consideration all aspects which support a candidate鈥檚 admission. A high score is one way in which you can strengthen your credentials when applying for graduate-level business programs.

You can also request an application from the Barry鈥檚 Office of Graduate Admissions or by contacting the Educational Testing Service, Princeton, N.J. 08541. Be sure to plan ahead and schedule a timely GMAT exam date as the availability of seats for the desirable dates may be limited.

  • The Graduate Knowledge Examination (GRE), Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT), Law School Admissions Test (LSAT), Examen de Admisi贸n a Estudios de Posgrado (EXADEP) or Prueba de Admisi贸n a Estudios de Postgrado (PAEP) may be considered in lieu of the GMAT if they were taken within the last five (5) years.
