Accelerated programs provide the opportunity for qualified undergraduates to complete seamlessly a Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctor degree in six, rather than seven, years. Participants in the program will complete the first three years of study through the College of Arts & Sciences and the fourth year in residence at the Law School. Successful completion of the first year law classes will satisfy the final requirements and credits for the Bachelor’s degree.

Admission Criteria (admission to the BA.Pre-Law major with course plan to qualify to apply for admission to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Law School in year 3)

High school GPA of unweighted 3.6 (as calculated by ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Office of Undergraduate Admissions)

Program Requirements

1. Students admitted to the 3+3 Pre-Law Program will be eligible for consideration for early admission to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Law School. To be considered, students must:

   1. have completed 75 credit hours of the baccalaureate degree program

   2. apply for admission to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Law School by March 1st of the student's junior year or as otherwise established by ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Law School

   3. submit to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Law School a letter from the History and Political Science Department Chair and the College of Arts & Sciences Associate Dean for Graduate Programs certifying satisfactory progress toward completion of all undergraduate program requirements

   4. maintain a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA and 3.5 GPA in all undergraduate major area course work. Failure to achieve minimum GPA requirements in any one semester may disqualify a student from further participation in the 3+3 Accelerated Law Program

   5. take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) no later than the February administration during the student's junior year and achieve a minimum score of 152 or as otherwise established by ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Law School

   6. meet ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Law School requirements for moral fitness and character as set out in its admissions application

2. ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Law School agrees to notify applicants by June 1st of its admissions decisions. Enrollment of admitted students to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Law School will be contingent upon their completion of all undergraduate program requirements for the first three years of study. The undergraduate Department will provide a letter from a designated academic advisor certifying such completion.

3. Participating students may elect to complete their Bachelor's degree in residence at the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ College of Arts & Sciences Department of the undergraduate major in four years under the following circumstances:

   1. students not accepted by ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Law School may complete a fourth year at the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Department of the undergraduate major and fulfill their remaining requirements for graduation with a Bachelor's degree and may elect to reapply for admission to Barry Law School

   2. students who decide to opt out of the 3+3 Accelerated Law Program may elect to fulfill their remaining requirements for graduation from the Department of the undergraduate major with a Bachelor's degree

   3. students who do not successfully complete their first year of course work at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Law School may elect to return to Department of the undergraduate major to fulfill their remaining requirements for graduation with a Bachelor's degree
